Dantyarishtam is an Ayurvedic medicine for piles, anal fissures and fistulae, and diseases of digestive system. It is a laxative.

Dantyarishtam is advised as a strong laxative in piles patients with pain & constipation.

It works well in all the indications of Abhayarishtam which are mentioned as,

It is useful in piles, grahani and many other diseases of digestive system. It helps in irritable bowel syndrome, anaemia, skin diseases, ascites, food poisoning, fever, swelling etc.

It is beneficial in visceral problems like splenomegaly, hepatic disorders, heart diseases, pain & distension of abdomen, indigestion, belching, flatulence, etc.

It improves digestive & absorptive power in deficiency diseases and compromised immunity like tuberculosis. It is beneficial in vomiting and intestinal parasites.

It is useful mostly in non-bleeding piles. It helps to heal fistulae and fissures in the early stages. It can prevent the complications of these diseases, too. It enhances Agni (digestive fire), removes blockages in the lower part of Gastro Intestinal Tract and relieves constipation. By regulating the proper movement of Apaanavaayu, it gives relief to many types of aches and pains in the lower abdomen, back and hip area.

Ingredienti di Dantyarishtam 

Red physic nut Danti Baliospermum solanifolium (Burm.) Suresh

 It is a strong purgative. It has anthelmintic, diuretic and hepato-protective properties. It is used to treat pain, enlarged spleen, inflammations, jaundice, leukoderma, abdominal tumours, and cancer.

DASAMOOLAM 

It is a group of roots of ten herbs used as a combination in many formulations in Ayurveda. Dasamoola is the Sanskrit name for a group of medicinal plants, classified as proving beneficial in cases of Asthma and difficult respiration. It was originally composed by Acharya Sushrutha. The name is derived from the words dasa (ten) and moola, translating to “root”. It includes the plants from the Laghupanchamoola and Bṛhatpanchamoola groups of medicinal plants. As discussed, it is a group of roots of ten herbs used as a combination in many formulations in Ayurveda.

Used together as a combination in Ayurvedic formulations, Dasamoola has Anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It works as a strong anti-rheumatic agent. It is useful in reducing edema. Being mainly Vaatahara it gives strength to the body. It is useful in all diseases related to nerves and muscles.

The ten plants included in Dasamoola are, 

1.       Indian bael    Bilwa Aegle marmelos

 It has anti-inflammatory properties and it is effective in peptic ulcer. It is anti-diarrhoeal, anti-diabetic and anti-microbial. Being a part of Dasamoola (group of roots of Ten plants) it helps to enhance its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. 

2.       Albero del mal di testa    Agnimantha Premna integrifolia Linn.

 Ha proprietà antinfiammatorie, analgesiche, antinocicettive, antiartritiche, antibatteriche, anticancerogene, antimicrobiche, antielmintiche, immunomodulanti, ipoglicemizzanti, neuroprotettive e antiulcera. È depressivo del SNC, stimolante cardiaco e cardioprotettivo. 

3.       Fiore a tromba indiano  Syonaka Oroxylum indicum

 It has anti-microbial, anti-diabetic, hepato-protective, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, immune-modulatotory , nephro-protective, and cardio-protective properties.

4.       Yellow snake tree  Paatala Stereospermum                                                               suaveolens

 It is useful in the treatment of diabetes, pain, fever, inflammations and asthma. 

5.       Beechwood Gambhari Gmelina arborea

 It has anti-pyretic, analgesic, anti-oxidant, anti-diabetic, anthelmintic, anti-microbial, cardio-protective, anti-ulcer, gastro-protective, anti-cancerous, anti-hyperlipidemic and immunomodulatory activity. It is the one of the main ingredients in Dasamoola for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic property. 

6.       Dabra Prisniparni Uraria picta

 It has anti-inflammatory, expectorant and diuretic properties. It is used as a tonic to nerves and heart. It is useful in bone fracture healing.

7.       Sal leaved desmodium  Saliparni Desmodium gangeticum

It is famous for its cardioprotective properties. It helps to strengthen the heart muscles. It has analgesic, aphrodisiac, diuretic, febrifuge, anti-inflammatory and haemorrhagic properties. It is used to treat fever, vomiting and diarrhoea, cough and asthma.

8.       Indian nightshade  Brihati Solanum indicum

It has anti-oxidants. It also has anti-cancerous, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, immune-modulatory, neuroprotective, diaphoretic, expectorant and stimulant properties. 

9.       Pungitopo a bacca gialla Kantakari Solanum xanthocarpum

It has anti-oxidant and anti-cancer activities. It possesses anti-asthmatic, hypoglycaemic, hepatoprotective, antibacterial, and insect repellent properties. 

10.   Vite perforante   Gokshura Tribulus terrestris

 È utile in patologie quali squilibri ormonali, problemi sessuali, problemi cardiaci, problemi renali e varie malattie della pelle. Aiuta a ridurre i livelli di zucchero e colesterolo nel sangue. 

Vara (Triphala) -a group of fruits of 3 drugs namely,

Mirobalano chebulico Patria Terminalia chebula RETZ. & WILLD.

It is one of the main drugs in Ayurveda, one of the Rasayana drugs. It is used in a wide variety of diseases as it possesses anti-bacterial anti-fungal anti-viral anti-diabetic anti-mutagenic anti-oxidant anti-ulcer and wound-healing properties.

Beleric myrobalan, Bahera Aksha Terminalia bellirica (GAERTN.) ROXB.

 

A very good healer of gastric diseases, common cold, leukoderma and also cures digestive disorders. It has laxative and anti-inflammatory actions.Other properties for which it is used are as health tonic and as rejuvenator. It is used in treatment of piles also.

Amla, Indian gooseberry Dhatri Emblica officinalis GAERTN.

 

 

Amla exhibits strong antioxidant activity. It is one of the most important plants in the traditional Ayurvedic medical system as well as in other traditional health systems for immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer and hepatoprotective actions. It is widely used for anti-diabetic effect.

Ceylon leadwort Agni/ Chitraka Plumbago zeylanica L.

 

 It aids digestion and increases appetite. It has anti-inflammatory action. It can also be used in liver diseases. 

Cespuglio di fuoco Dhaataki Woodfordia fruiticosa Kurtz

Dettagli sulla produzione

Come già discusso, Dantyarishtam has 16 herbal ingredients and jaggery.

Tutti gli ingredienti vegetali devono essere lavati bene e asciugati all'ombra.

Take one pala of Danti, Dasamoola, Vara, and Agni in a clean vessel. Add 16 Prastha clean water into it. Make it boil. The fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Make sure to mix it in between with a wooden ladle. Reduce the quantity into one by fourth of the initial quantity. Once the quantity is reduced to one by fourth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. To this decoction, add 1 Tulam of Jaggery and 8 Pala of Dhataki flower.

It should be transferred into an earthen pot coated inside with ghee. Cover it with a clean white cloth and keep it closed and airtight. Keep it for fifteen days in a dark place with low temperature. After fifteen days, open it and filter through a clean white cloth. Keep it in an airtight glass bottle. Arishtam can be used for a longer period of time without any preservatives.

 Dosage and Usage of Dantyarishtam

Dosaggio: 25-30 ml dopo il cibo

Utilizzo:

Si consiglia di assumere l'arishtam dopo il cibo, quando il cibo ingerito e l'arishtam saranno digeriti insieme.

Si assume due o tre volte al giorno subito dopo il cibo.

 Esercizi e Yoga.

Come Dantyarishtam targets mainly GIT, lower back and hip region, following stretching exercises and specific yoga asanas like pavanamuktasana, vajrasana, bhujangasana etc for lower back and abdomen recommended.

Regular exercise helps improve the bioavailability of the medicine and food ingested and leads to positive health.

Alimentazione e comportamento consigliati

Dieta:

  • Da evitare

I pasti pesanti e gli alimenti difficili da digerire causano indigestione.

cibi spazzatura - causano disturbi nella digestione e riducono la biodisponibilità del farmaco

bevande gassate: rendono lo stomaco più acido e disturbano la digestione

cibi refrigerati e congelati - causano una digestione debole e lenta indebolendo agni (fuoco digestivo)

cagliata - causa vidaaha e quindi molte altre malattie

Pasti leggeri e alimenti facilmente digeribili

Grammo verde, zuppe, latticello bollito con curcuma, zenzero e foglie di curry

cibi freschi e caldi lavorati con semi di cumino, zenzero, pepe nero, ajwain, ecc.

 Comportamento:

È meglio evitare l'esposizione a luce solare eccessiva, pioggia o polvere.

Evitare il sollevamento di pesi pesanti e altre attività fisiche vigorose.

Mantenere un programma alimentare e di sonno regolare.

Evitate di stare seduti per lungo tempo e di accovacciarvi.

Effetti collaterali e controindicazioni

Non sono stati segnalati effetti collaterali noti.

I diabetici e le persone affette da ulcera gastrica non dovrebbero assumere arishta-asavas.
