Ayurvedic treatment for bacterial infections have a holistic approach. It considers the reasons, the environment and parasites. Ayurvedic treatment is host (human being) centered and considers the reason in the host for creating an environment favourable for the parasite. Bacteria are microscopic, single-celled organisms that live in diverse environments. Bacteria have many shapes ranging from spheres to rods and spirals. In bacterial infection there is a proliferation of bacteria on or inside the body occur, resulting in the manifestation of diseases.

CAUSES OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Bacterial infections can spread directly by contact with an infected person
- Bacterial infections spread through body fluids such as blood, saliva etc
- Infections are spread directly from an infected mother to her child either through the placenta or during childbirth
- Bacterial food infections are spread through contaminated food and water
- Zoonotic bacterial infections are transmitted through infected animals
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
Pathogenesis refers both to the mechanism of infection and to the mechanism by which disease develops. Virulence is the measure of the pathogenicity of an organism. The degree of virulence is related directly to the ability of the organism to cause disease despite host resistance mechanisms; it is affected by numerous variables such as the number of infecting bacteria, route of entry into the body, specific and nonspecific host defence mechanisms, and virulence factors of the bacterium. Virulence can be measured experimentally by determining the number of bacteria required to cause animal death, illness, or lesions in a defined period after the bacteria are administered by a designated route.

BACTERIAL INFECTIONS AND AYURVEDA
Secondo l'Ayurveda, chi ha sviluppato uno squilibrio dei "dosha" e ha quindi indebolito il proprio sistema immunitario, può essere soggetto a un'infezione microbica, considerata un sintomo di tale squilibrio.
NIDANA- AYURVEDIC CAUSES OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Squilibrio dei dosha
- Vizio dei dhatus
- Riduzione dell'immunità (vyadhi kshamatwam)
PURVAROOPAM- AYURVEDIC PREMONITORY SYMPTOMS OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Jwara - febbre
SAMPRAPTI – AYURVEDIC PATHOGENESIS OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
A healthy individual has a strong immune system and, therefore, it will be difficult for the microbial infection to take hold. Balance in dosha, dhatu and agni provide a strong and well-functioning immune system capable of defending against microbial infection. Bacteria invade the body when there is a defect in the immune system.
LAKSHANA- AYURVEDIC SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Jwara - febbre
- Agnimandya - indigestione
- Sada - debolezza
- Atisara - diarrea
- Chardi - vomito
AYURVEDIC PROGNOSIS OF BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Sadhyasadhyata (prognosis) is based on the extent of bacterial infection.
CHIKITSA- AYURVEDIC TREATMENT FOR BACTERIAL INFECTIONS

HOME REMEDIES FOR BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Assunzione di probiotici come lo yogurt per le infezioni del tratto digestivo.
- Water boiled with neem leaves and turmeric used for bathing.
- Nelle infezioni respiratorie - inalazioni di vapore
DIET AND BEHAVIOUR FOR BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Avoid food items which produce dosha imbalance like cold and dry food, hard to digest. Because dosha imbalance reduces immunity.
- Consumare alimenti facilmente digeribili e acqua tiepida.
- Bagno quotidiano
- Evitare il contatto con persone infette
- Indossare maschere se si esce all'aperto
YOGA FOR BACTERIAL INFECTIONS
- Nadi Shuddi Pranayam – Cleans the respiratory passage from bacterial infections
