SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF SMALL VESSEL DISEASE    

The symptoms of small vessel disease are mild in the early-stage like chest discomfort or shortness of breath associated with physical activities. The symptoms of a heart attack include;

  • Pain in the chest (angina)
  • Increased heart rate
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sweating
  • Fatigue

CAUSES OF SMALL VESSEL DISEASE    

Risk factors for developing small vessel disease are;

  • Family history of heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Obésité
  • Fumer
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • High stress

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF SMALL VESSEL DISEASE    

Due to the above-mentioned causes damage occur in the tiny coronary blood vessels. Plaque buildup in the wall of coronary arteries also contributes to small vessel disease. Plaque is made up of cholesterol deposits. Plaque buildup causes narrowing of coronary arteries (atherosclerosis) and leads to the blockage of blood supply to the heart muscle.

Le patient doit être assis dans une position méditative, la tête et la colonne vertébrale droites, le corps détendu. Le patient doit fermer une narine (par exemple la narine gauche s'il utilise la main droite et vice versa) avec le pouce et expirer complètement par l'autre narine. Il devra à nouveau inspirer profondément par l'autre narine tout en continuant à fermer la narine opposée avec le pouce.
