
Asoka ghrutham is an Ayurvedic medicine for many Genito-urinary diseases in women. It is also used as a nutritive supplement.

As already discussed, Asoka ghrutham has 19 herbal ingredients and sugar.
All these ingredients should be washed well and dried up in shade.
For preparation of ghrithakalpana,
We use
- Snehadravya (Cow’s ghee) – 1 Prastha
- Dravadravya
Decoction of Asokavalkala – 1 Prastha (boiled with 1 aadhaka water and reduced to 1/4th)
Decoction of Jeera – 1 Prastha
Swarasa of Kesaraja – 1 Prastha
Goat’s milk – 1 Prastha
Water after washing rice -1 Prastha
- Kalkadravya (For making paste) -1 part

Sugar – 8Pala
Take the prescribed decoction of Asoka, decoction of jeeraka, Tandulambu, swarasa of Kesaraja, Goat’s milk, ghruta and kalkadravya in an earthen pot. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into the quantity of ghrutha. Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the ghee. Continue cooking and stir in between. Check the Paaka as per Snehapakavidhi. Once the desired Paaka is attained, filter the ghruta. Add sugar after cooling completely. Mix well and keep it in air tight glass bottles after cooling. Ghrutha can be used for a longer period of time without any preservatives.
Dosha Dooshya Prédominance avec roga margas.
Asokaghrutham is Pitta-Vaatahara.
It acts on aabhyantara, madhyama and bahya rogamargas.
Dosage and Usage of Asokaghrutham
Dosage: Generally, it is prescribed in OP practise as 5-15ml once a day.
It is said in text as one Pala or 48 gm in a person with profound digestive fire.
It differs for Acchasnehapanasodhana) and vicharanasneha(samana)
Utilisation :
Ghrutham is advised to take in empty stomach, once the ingested food is digested well and aahaararasa is formed well.
Exercices et yoga.
As Asokaghrutham targets mainly genito-urinary system, regular stretching and mild cardio exercises are advised. Also, specific yogacharya to regularise Apana-Pranavayus including naadisuddhi pranayama, bhujangaasana, pavanamuktasana is recommended.
Regular exercise helps improve the bioavailability of the medicine and food ingested and leads to positive health.

Aucun effet secondaire connu n'a été signalé.
Diabetic and hypercholesterolaemic people should not take it as it contains sugar and ghee.
