PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF FELON
Felon is commonly occurring due to bacterial infections. Bacterial infection in the tip of the finger leads to the formation of a pocket of pus (or abscess) that is very painful as it expands. If the infection spreads to the entire finger there is a chance to block the blood vessels leads to permanent damage to the finger.

- A gram stain and culture of discharge or drainage.
