SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

CAUSES OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

  • The cause of Sweet’s syndrome is not known
  • This disease is found in association with certain cancers
  • Certain medications

 

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

The actual pathophysiology of Sweet’s syndrome is not clear. The role of inflammatory signaling, disease induction and relationship with malignancy are elucidated through different studies. These findings include an improved understanding of inflammasome activation, malignant transformation into dermal infiltrating neutrophils, and genetic contributions.

DIAGNOSIS OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

  • Physical examinations
  • Skin biopsy
  • Laboratory tests
  • Blood tests – particularly white blood cell count

TREATMENTS OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

  • Oral and local corticosteroids
  • Antipyretics

PROGNOSIS OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

  • Prognosis is based on the stage of the disease and the immunity of the patient. The symptoms may last for weeks or months. Generally, sweets syndrome is curable.

 

COMPLICATIONS OF SWEET’S SYNDROME

  • Patients with weakened immune system produce complications
  • If it affects the eyes may lead to vision problems

Der Patient muss in einer meditativen Haltung mit aufrechtem Kopf und aufrechter Wirbelsäule sitzen, wobei der Körper entspannt ist. Der Patient muss ein Nasenloch (z. B. das linke Nasenloch, wenn er die rechte Hand benutzt und umgekehrt) mit dem Daumen verschließen und durch das andere Nasenloch vollständig ausatmen. Wiederum muss er durch das andere Nasenloch tief einatmen, während das gegenüberliegende Nasenloch noch mit dem Daumen verschlossen ist.
