PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF HAIR FALLING 

In the case of dandruff overactive sebaceous glands produce too much sebum, and this could prevent the old skin cells from drying and falling off the scalp. Instead, they stick to the scalp and finally hair falling manifested. Like that in the case of infections the healthiness of scalp skin affected, leading to hair loss.

DIAGNOSIS OF HAIR FALLING 

  • Hair falling is diagnosed by the proper inspection of the scalp.
  • Laboratory tests are done to find out the hormonal imbalance like thyroid dysfunction

TREATMENTS FOR HAIR FALLING 

  • In dandruff, wash hair once a day with a mild shampoo.
  • Oil application on the scalp before shampooing.

  • Nadi Shuddi Pranayam – Calms the mind and gets relief from the recurrence of hair falling 

 

The patient needs to be seated in a meditative posture with the head and spine erect, with the body relaxed. The patient has to close his one nostril (e.g. left nostril if using the right hand and vice versa) with the thumb and exhale completely through the other nostril. Again, he will have to breathe in deeply through the other nostril while the opposite nostril is still closed with the thumb.
