  • Warts may occur in the external genitals, vulva, cervix, shaft of penis, scrotum or anus

  • Condyloma acuminatum is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV)

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF CONDYLOMA ACUMINATUM

The disease is transmitted from one person to another through sexual intercourse. The virus causes bumps in the genital area. The virus penetrates the skin and mucous membrane in the genital area.

Condyloma acuminatum is considered an agantuja vyadhi, because it is caused by the infection. When the virus enters the body the doshas are vitiated, which further vitiates the rakta, mamsa dhatus and produces the symptoms.

The patient needs to be seated in a meditative posture with the head and spine erect, and the body relaxed. The patient has to close one nostril (e.g. left nostril if using the right hand and vice versa) with the thumb and exhale completely through the other nostril. Again, he will have to breathe in deeply through the other nostril while the opposite nostril is still closed with the thumb.
