Cradle cap is diagnosed by the proper inspection of the scalp.

  • Cradle cap usually doesn’t require medical treatment because it is self-limiting
  • Wash hair once a day with mild baby shampoo.
  • Oil application on the scalp before shampooing.

PROGNOSIS OF CRADLE CAP

Babies with seborrheic dermatitis are usually well and the condition should get better on its own or with treatment.

COMPLICATIONS OF CRADLE CAP

  • The affected area may spread to the face.
  • The baby may develop a fungal infection.
